Bring your young trapper to a FREE workshop where they will learn about the life cycle of ermine, what they are used for in the fur market, and the basic's of catching them. Together you will build a ermine box complete with a trap to take home and use this coming season!

This course is not only for new trappers but also for those that are new to Alaska. 

Our program covers the fundamentals of trapping and snaring in general, and in winter conditions / Alaska's unique furbearer's/ Alaska's regulations, and rules / ethics of trapping/ basic sets and general fur handling.

Time: 8am-6pm

Where: Beach Lake Lodge

Youth 16 and Under $40 (must be in attendance with an adult)

Adult 17 and above $100

Cost includes a 1 yr Membership to the Alaska Trappers Association with magazine subscription, the Alaska Trappers Manual, coffee, donuts and pastries for breakfast and a hot meal for lunch.

Alot can happen out in the Alaska wilderness when you're breaking trail, exploring areas or just running your line. Come join us as we cover basic maintenance, prior to heading out, and what basic gear you should be traveling with in the event of a breakdown or getting stuck in deep snow or overflow. We will also discuss basic winter survival, proper attire, cold weather injuries, and temporary shelters.

Predator Hunting/ Calling/ Night Vision/ Thermals Workshop

At this Workshop we will discuss different techniques and tactic's of hunting predators in Alaska, types and differences of mouth and electronic calls, different types of weapons used and why, basic furbearer care after harvest, types of night vision and thermals that are available, and Alaskan rules and regulations pertaining to night vision and thermal use.
